About SageSource Learning Center

SageSource Learning Center was founded in 2015 by Rita Grayson, LCSW, RPT-S. The mission of The Center is to provide high quality training, supervision, and personal growth experiences to support mental health professionals.

Rita began teaching Sandtray Play Therapy in 2012. Since then, she has introduced hundreds of mental health professionals to Sandtray Play Therapy and provided over 1,000 hours of continuing education. More than half of those hours were attended by returning students who chose to continue their Sandtray studies with Rita.

During those early years Rita met many dedicated professionals who wanted to deepen their practice of Sandtray Play Therapy and also wished for a certification process which would recognize the depth of their study and Sandtray experience. To address this need, Rita established the SageSource Learning Center and began offering mental health providers the opportunity to earn a Certificate in The Body-Brain Approach to Sandtray Play Therapy.

The Body-Brain Approach teaches Sandtray Play Therapy through the lens of Relational Neuroscience. In her teaching, Rita weaves together the latest understanding of how the relational brain works, along with Sandtray Play Therapy techniques and the wisdom of Sandtray’s theoretical roots. Students of this approach gain deeper understanding and confidence that, given appropriate tools, techniques and a safe therapeutic environment, the body’s wisdom can be trusted to discover healing pathways.

As a result of personal and professional experiences in her intensive study of Relational Neuroscience, Rita has become passionate about supporting the needs of Mental Health Providers.  She crafts her trainings to be deep learning experiences, while also nourishing body, soul, and spirit.
